Volatile Organic Compounds such as trichloroethylene, which cause pollution in soils and groundwater, are known to be
carcinogenic, and the remediation of such pollutants is now a crucial issue.
JESCO rents equipment to local governments and small companies in Japan, to help clean up soils
and ground water of contaminated sites.

As specified in Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the supplementary provision
of the Japan Environmental Safety Corporation Law, the government has
set a policy to implement necessary measures to abolish this program
at around five years after the establishment of JESCO.
For this reason, JESCO no longer accepts new applicants for equipment rental.
